It must be nearly 30 years ....

It must be nearly 30 years since I did a sprocket and chain change. Helps that I have had a few shaft drive bikes. Or the chain drive bikes I have got rid of before they needed new chain. Example of this is the MuZ I had. The 1200 has a real tight spot in the chain. So I have a new X ring chain and new sprockets to go on. I am using the standard size sprockets. I do not want to play around with gearing. Knowing me I would end up buying different size sprockets. Not like the change to the gearing and go back to standard. I bought a Tsubaki / Supersprox Heavy duty X-ring chain & sprocket kit  from  https://www.slipstreamperformance.com.au/store/index.php  as they were the cheapest I could find in Australia. I know what to do. I have watched a few You Tube videos to refresh my memory. I have bought a 32mm socket to get the drive sprocket nut off. Glad I have an angle grinder. Only way to get the old chain off and cut the new one to length. Jan loaned me her foot and leg to

A shout out...

Yesterday my 5 degree advancer from Holeshot arrived. Dale, who owns Holeshot, offers such great service. Great communication all through the purchasing and sending process. The kit comes with the advancer and a new gasket. There is a very well written set of installation instructions. I had it all fitted and the bike started up in under 10 minutes I have yet to ride the bike yet I have noticed that the engine is more responsive off idle. Of course out on the road will show how good this mod is.  Thank you Dale. Wish more sellers/suppliers on the Net were like you.  {EDIT}: Just took the bike out for a quick blat. I sure have noticed a better response in low and mid range. I though the 12 was good in standard trim. Its even better now.  I have the OEM exhaust still fitted, no airbox mod and no re-jetting. The idle went up a bit from before the advancer was put in. I have backed the idle off to 1300rpm which is what it was set to when I bought the bi

"New cafe" on Old Pacific Highway.

Went for a wee jaunt today on the Bandit. Mainly to test the heated grips I have put on. Want to keep my delicate digits warm in winter. I went to the "new" cafe on the Old Pacific Highway. Now called "Old Road Cafe." Same same. At least it is not the flea pit it used to be when it was "Road Warriors." Lonely job this corner marking. He was waiting for the last 3 harleys from HOG.  The start of the Old Pac from the northern end.  Twas a bit wet in places. A bit slippery at times. Saw a police bike go the other way. gggrrrr. He was out hunting. I was not speeding.  I saw lots of bikes at the cafe.  Square exhausts.  "I look like a brit." "I am one ya cahn" "look he is taking a photo of your bike." No I am stealing its soul.  Monochrome KTM Flames makes you go faster.  Five kicks and its going.  Teh Fridge has a NSW brother. Teh Fridge. I needed t
