Roaming the Central Coast. 1....

Seeing as I basically now live on the Central Coast it is time for a Roaming of the Central Coast ride. Today the weather turned on a very hot and sunny day for us. No set route. Just go for a ride. So we headed off to Somersby Falls first. Having never been there this was a real treat for me. Having Jan as my human GPS we could not get lost. This is her stomping ground. She has lived up here all her life. You can tell we are still in the grip of a savage drought. The Falls are but a trickle. Jan said as a kid you could swim at the bottom of some of the falls. Not now. In places there are pools of black stagnant water. Yet the Falls themselves are still very pretty. My poor riding legs are screaming after all the stairs we have descended and then climbed back up. It is stinking hot too in jeans and a leather vest. We have both been just riding in shirts. The sun has been frying our skin bright red. Before you scream at me as to why we are not wearing all the right gear let me just say

Jan steals my bike....

Second ride for Jan my partner. 200 Kilometer loop from Gosford down Wisemans Ferry Rd, cross the Hawkesbury River up to the Wisemans Ferry pub. Then to Berrowa Waters across the ferry there. Help rescue a girl push bike rider who face planted and lost half a tooth, was knocked out when we got to her and her friend. Jan helped her friend to get the girl off the road and clean up all the blood off the girl. I took off up to Berrowa Heights to call 000. 15 minutes later the Ambos turn up and cart the poor girl off to hospital. Jan found out the day next day that the girl did not sustain any major injuries. After this sobering event we took our time riding back up the Old Pac Hwy to Gosford and home. Jan gave me the boot. On the road to Glenoire. Berowa Waters Berowa Waters Bike stolen. Will I get it back??? Us!

BMW R1300RT for 2010????....

Looks like BMW are preparing for the new Honda VFR1300. They look set to release a all new boxer engined R1300RT. Take from http://www.moto-station.com/article6343-news-moto-2010-bmw-r1300rt.html This is a translation from this French website... This is already a few years the R1200RT was installed on the European market GT. But the cycle of renewal of the German motorcycle directly affect in 2010. New look, new engine, new developments, the R1300RT out all the stops to do even better than its predecessor. In excluded Moto-Station lifts the veil 1996 R1100RT, 2001 R1150RT, 2005 R1200RT ... 2010 R1300RT! Argued chronologically, the arrival of a new flagship for the fleet of German flat twin seems obvious. But we have intersected the conclusion of this rule arithmetic with various sources on this point are also unanimous. And to give us reason if any was still needed, the current R1200RT is now the subject of a disguised in the network (formally pack 2 or 3 at deflated prices, unof

A Spring ride in Oz... Airbear hits the road and goes north...

I’m just back from a 26 day adventure with Brunhilde (1974 BMW R90/6), exploring the eastern part of the state of New South Wales. I headed off on a cold afternoon with all layers on and arrived back in much the same state. Along the way I experienced a huge range of conditions including sleet, tropical heat and humidity, dust storms, bush fires and a whole lot of impeccable days of sunshine and big blue skies. First day was a short run along the Upper Murray valley … … with rain threatening but politely holding off until I had set up camp and cooked a decent meal. Here’s the first campsite, near Tumbarumba – lots of firewood, long-drop dunny (crapper), etc. The morning was sunny but cold, warming up during the day as I headed north-west over the mountains. I typically choose roads that have few cars; ones that have a tendency to meander through the countryside and small communities in a way that seems deliberately designed to bring pleasure to the owner of a mature motorcycle.
