Wrench'n Ride'n

That was one quick love affair that has ended. Yep I have sold the CeeBee back to the guy I bought it off.  Why? I want a single. Of all the bikes I have owned the singles have been by far the ones I have the most fun on.  The CeeBee is a great bike. I have enjoyed chop chop it. But I am restless and must have move it on to be able to buy what I want.  Bye bye CeeBee-6-Fiddy. 

Need to carry crap. Sick of carrying it on my back. Bought old leather back pack. Made saddle bag. My back thanks me. Hole in steering stem. Covered up with Sugar Skull pill box. Wife snuck some photos of me tinkering.    

Sometimes Original is better. I really like that mates have helped me out with this bike. That they have supplied me with bits and pieces via the beer economy. Like the mini speed. Like the small headlight reflector. All good stuff. All stuff that the CeeBee has hated. The combination of TS185 headlight and H4 globe did not work. The light spread and penetration is not there. Riding at night I have to rely on other road users headlights to see the road ahead. Not very good. The mini speedo has LED lights in it. The CeeBee is wired like a trailer. Nothing earths to the frame. Plus the LED back light in the speedo would come on when the brake light came on. even though they are in no way connected. I have heard this can happen with LEDs. The needle in the speedo at freeway speeds was waving its merry self around. So it was back to the original speedo and headlight today.  

el Burro Loco - The Mad Donkey. Slowly the CeeBee-6-Fiddy Brat is being brated even further. New brat seat made from old skate board. Several layers of foam mat. Navajo print horse blanket for the seat covering. A few more small details to be added soon. ADV type tires when these wear out.    

Inspired by the flat tracking last weekend. Plus I have had plans for a bit to change the look of the CeeBee I give you the CeeBee-6-Fiddy Brat-Tracker. TS185 head light and headlight cowl. H4 headlight fitting converted to allow me to mount a H4 globe in the TS headlight. Biltwell Low Bars. My neck can't do long distances with the Ultra Lows fitted. Biltwell Oxblood red Renegade grips. Next will be new tires. Something like Avon Distanze.   Then the dreaded 70s suspension will have to be sorted.

No silly not that type of strap on.. wink wink say no more. A tank strap. Made from one of my old leather belts. Why? Cause I can. Plus I am changing the ignition barrel soon so wont be able unlock the fuel cap latch.

More fiddling on the CeeBee-6-Fiddy. That huge fuse box on top of the handle clamps. Is gone. Fuses are now under the seat. Lowered the ignition. Lowered the headlamp even further. Cleans up the lines of the bike nicely. I like the stance it now has. Fitted some Renthal Ultra-Lows and bar end mirrors. Did an oil change.   3 months has gone quick.

That lasted a week. I should never say done. Mini speedo fitted. I hate wiring. Being colour blind does not help me. I have no oil light. I have tested different lights and either LED or normal bulb it wont light up. I know there is oil in the engine. Original bars back on. The drag bars look great but after the long ride yesterday and the lane filtering my wrists have said no more with those bars.    

      I am calling this done. What did I do to the Brat - CeeBee-6-Fiddy. Brat style seat made by Butlers Customs and Caferacers from Newcastle. Drag Bars. Biltwell Kungfu Grips. Junked the massive tail light. Fitted a Lucas replica. CB450 cut down rear guard. Wrapped the mid pipe of the Marshall Deep Tone 4into1 connector pipe. Mirrors made from 2 different sets of crusier style ones. Smaller indicators. Removed the tacho. Made sidecovers from perforated sheet. Airbox side has brass mesh. Made sidecover badges. Removed crash bars that came with te bike. Replaced with CBR650 Crash Knobs. Lowered headlight with different mounts. Centred the speedo. Move idiot light console. Fitted new lights. What I have done to the Brat - CeeBee-6-Fiddy so far. Brat style seat made by butlers customs and caferacers from Newcastle. Drag Bars. Biltwell Kungfu Grips. Junked the massive tail light. Lowered headlight with different mounts. Still to do. Centre the speedo. Fit idiot lights to headlight shell. Make different chain guard. And anything else along the way that i think needs making.

Sidecovers done. Right side has brass mesh in behind it. Airbox in-take is on that side. Its not supposed be an E. It was supposed to be a scallop. The perforations would not allow me to get the points of the scallop. Oh well. WnRn Logos attached. Now to clean salt that is attacking the engine. I live not far from the coast line. They storms we have had have brought sea salt inland.

Just to break up the black. WnRn logo badge. Wait till you see what I am doing to the sidecover on the other side.

Today's wrenchin. Wrapped the exhaust connector pipe with header wrap. This is to hide the chrome that is coming away from the ugly weld. Fitted a set of Drag bars. Lower is better. Converted/mashed/cut up some CBR600 crash knobs in place of those horrid crash bars. Few other things left to do.... 

Crash bars are gone. Crash knobs will be added soon. Different mirrors fitted. Recycled the Arlen Ness ones. They had been on the Speedmaster at one stage. I am undecided on the mirrors. I do have some oval ones.

One side cover is done. Maybe to be re-made. Perforated aluminum sheet. Black plastic backing. Cable ties to hold it on.
