New rubber donut time for Little Dug.
Duro HF308 TT 4PR 3.50x19 front. 400x18 rear. Hidenau heavy duty tubes were used as well. Way thicker than the Caet ones fitted from the factory.
The tyres look very retro, which fits the look of the bike. Nick Adams on YouTube, https://www.youtube.com/@nick949eldo, swears by these for gravel roads and uses them on his Guzzi Eldorado. He lives in Canada and seeks out gravel roads to travel on. There are lots of gravel roads around here where I live that I want to explore.
I use a Ballards tyre bead breaker tool that holds your wheel and allows you to use tyre irons to get the tyres off and on.
I used the cable tie method of fitting them so as to not pinch the inner tube with tyre irons. See https://youtu.be/tmp2EqBP80Y?si=kKtQ633CQqY3HGGD
Let the new rubber get soft in the sun.
The rear Ceat tyre that comes from the factory fought me to come off. Putting these Duros on with cable ties was so quick and easy. Lots of soapy water was applied.
The hardest thing I found was lining up the rear wheel, bushes, sprocket, rear brake hanger and caliper and adjusters. Royal Enfield have this video to show you how. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WJ10qLqQYE
