I know this is a day early .... On 11 November 1918 at 11 am the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. This year marks the 89th anniversary of the armistice. So whatever you think about war we should all tomorrow remember those from our country that gave so much during WWI. This has become even more relevant for my family. This year we discovered that my wife’s grandmother’s uncle was killed in WWI. Phillip Marich Passmore Rank Private Unit 19 Infantry Battalion (June 1915) He arrived at Anzac Cove on the 17th May 1915 and was killed on the 16th November 1915. He was killed at Popes Hill. He was 19. Phillip may be a long distant relative but when we researched into to him it really brought home the shame and brutally of war to us. What made it even worse is that we saw a copy of the letter his father had signed allowing him to enlist. Lest we Forget.

If you have a Skorpion that has the standard European twin headlamp and you ride at night how do you do it? It mystifies me how they could sell this bike with such a hopeless headlamp. I know the law in Europe says that you can only have one of the headlamps on at one time. That way any on coming traffic won’t think that it’s a car way off in the distance. Good for the other road users but really bad for me at night. It would have been better to use a lit match. Sorry if you find the standard headlamp ok. So how to fix this? Easy get a Yamaha headlamp from any FZR/TRX etc Bruce Campbell told me. So that’s what I did. Bought a TRX850 headlamp off eBay. Paid $49.00 for it. Once here it was a simple job to take the top part of the fairing off and then remove the original headlamp. I found that the connectors are not the same when you have twin headlamps. Parts from my old XV1000 came to the rescue. XV1000 Headlamp loom was spliced into the MuZ loom. Plug in the connectors and wow look at ...

Yep I got to go a second time. This time with my kids. My young ladies had a good time. Lilly wanted to see the Scooters. Heather wanted to find a bike for herself. Which she did. A 250 Virgao. I got to sit on the 2008 Triumph Thruxton. I want one of those too. Sat on some of the Maxiscooters and they are like lounge chairs on wheels. Me like. Here are some photos of us all enjoying the show.

It's here. The Sydney Motorcycle Show. Brisbane and Melbourne saw this show before us. Must be pay back for the Olympics. I was there yesterday. I love flexi time at work. The show is just one big bike shop. You get to sit on just about all of the bikes. It is also a great place to meet up with friends. Aus_Dragon and Pink_Dragon were there with their kids. Pink_Dragon was trying on a RI for size. You should have seen the look on her face as she sat on that bike. It might just be on the next bike shopping list. I found Sleddog at the Buel stand. He was trying to get one under his shirt. Then pegasus was found at one of the GPS stands. So the three of us spend many hours full of laughs and bike sitting on. Sleddog seems to have this way with Show Girls.... ;-) My fav bike to sit on was the BMW F800s. The only bike in the whole show that said "my next bike". Of all the Honda's I sat on the Transalp was the best. The worse was the Blackbird. Way too big for my dumpy legs...
